Totonoko EP release last night was so beautiful, and so pleasantly packed! I couldn’t fit everyone into the frame but here’s totonoko with part of the wonderful audience that listened with ears and hearts throughout each of our sets. We love and appreciate you! If you missed it, you can download the 6 magical songs here: http://totonoko.bandcamp.com and you can also catch Diana Gameros performing at the Jewish contemporary museum in September. I play again with Chris on drums and Paul on bass on September 13 in SF #oaklandmusic #blog @nikastates @lugomateo @dianagameros (at Awaken Cafe)
Bay Area crooner Alison May is releasing a beautiful full-length album on Saturday July 19 and I have the honour of being on the bill. Awaken Cafe is a great local venue supporting community & musicians and I’m always happy to play shows there. Plus they have a particularly great reverb.
RSVP on The Book of Faces: http://www.facebook.com/events/259776167547296
Pre-order / listen to Alison’s album: http://alisonmay.bandcamp.com/
Song composed & performed by Madeline Tasquin. Strings arranged by Lewis & Graham Patzner. Cello: Lewis Patzner. Violin: Graham Patzner. Viola: Charith Premawhardana. Drums: Ezra Lipp. Bass: Joe Lewis. Guitar: Mateo Lugo.
Pre-order just launched!
Pre-ordering is a new-fangled way of supporting the creation of an album before it is finished. When you click the button below and “Pre-Order” the digital download, your money will go towards all the expenses involved in making the thing, from paying musicians and producers to paying album artists and manufacturing the CDs. I’ll keep you and other supporters updated on the album’s progress, and you’ll be the first to know when the full album is ready to download. When that time comes I’ll also send you a special code for a nice discount on a physical copy of the CD. AND if you buy the CD at that time I’ll also throw in a lock of my hair.*
Thanks so much for supporting this exciting project! You’re the best!
* Inclusion of hair in package not guaranteed. Hair offer subject to change without notice.
Calling in the Fog Gods at Albany Bulb today. #fogdance … I hear talk of all the big crazy sculptures and much of the vegetation at this wild and woolly wonderland on the San Francisco Bay being bulldozed soon to make way for yet another dog-parkish bayside landscape. I would rather the wool be allowed to stay. I suppose it’s a ‘liability’. What would today’s world be like without the advent of insurance liability? #blog (at The Albany Bulb)
Long live the Hackysack! I’m wandering echo park after a productive listening session with Mr. Daniel Wright. Such a pleasure to work with fellow again. I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself. Please mark this date on your calendar: Sunday September 28. #blog #cityofangels (at Stories BooksandCafe)
