Fireside Chat • san mateo
As her 2014 New Year’s Resolution, Christine Campbell started a salon series in her home. The result,
Fireside Chat, is an intimate speaker series featuring interviews with thought-provoking domain experts, live music and a shared meal. In the three years since its inception, it has also become a community of fascinating people who get together at this event to learn, engage, question and connect. Past speakers have included
Brent Assink, the Executive Director of the San Francisco Symphony,
Jeff Adachi, the SF Public Defender,
Andrés Ruzo, geoscientist and discoverer of the Boiling River in Peru, and many TED speakers, including
Dr. Nathan Wolfe (virologist),
Camille Seaman (storm chaser and environmentalist) and
Dr. Laurel Braitman (author of Animal Madness). Past musicians have included
Jon Vanderslice founder of Tiny Telephones,
Holly Muñoz,
Tom Rhodes,
Friction Quartet and
Kristina Dutton.
Fireside Chat recently linked up with
KitchenTown as a venue to allow more people to share this experience.
Tickets are $65-150 and can be purchased online via EventBrite
